Proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching. (2 Timothy 4:2)
Today I am thankful for the pastors and spiritual leaders in my life. I have been blessed to have men and women pour into my life since childhood. They have taught me, guided me, preached to me, and prayed over me. My pastors’ wives have given me a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear.
Today I’m thankful for my high school youth pastor, Chad. I’m thankful that he taught me the truths in Scripture and helped shape my understanding of the gospel. And while it was completely awkward to go through marriage counseling with him, I’m grateful that he provided Stephen and me with wisdom as we took on a big step in life. I’m thankful for his wife, Jenn, and her friendship and love. She was such a good influence for me in high school and a great friend now. Thanks for marrying her and bringing her to Knoxville, Chad.
I’m thankful for my former college pastor, Duane. I’m thankful for his faithfulness to Scripture, his unwavering love for Jesus Christ, and his passion for making Jesus’ name known. I’m thankful for his wife, Amy, and her willingness to always listen. I’m thankful for the example of marriage they set for Stephen and me, their love for us, and their support.
There are many other pastors (and their wives) in my life that I love dearly, but these have a very special place in my heart. They have been some of the biggest influences in my life, and I’m so grateful for them. Happy Day 10!
