Hi, I’m Megan.
I live just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, with my little family. My husband Stephen and I have been married a little more than five years and life gets sweeter every day—he’s my best friend. In December 2017, our baby boy, Griffin, was born and came to our family through the gift of adoption.
Stephen and I love spending time together—you can often find us at Bridgestone Area for a Nashville Predators game, singing along with one of our favorite artists at the Ryman Auditorium (my favorite venue), or seeing a show at TPAC. But we’re not opposed to ordering pizza and binge-watching Netflix. On Friday nights, you can find us at our favorite Mexican restaurant eating our weight in chips and salsa and then catching up on our DVR’d television shows. We know, our Friday nights are super exciting.
Stick around long enough and you’ll learn that my relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important relationship in my life. I grew up in the church and became a Christian at a young age. As I’ve gotten older, however, I have come to better understand my faith. Stephen and I serve at Westwood Baptist Church, where he is on staff as the worship and music leader.
During the week I work as a writer and editor for a content marketing company. I love my job and the different types of clients I get to work with. But on this blog I write about what’s important to me: my faith, my family and friends, the adoption process, favorite books, etc. I’ve shared about my love for the Nashville Predators, the books I’m reading, and podcasts I’m loving. I’ve shared some of my favorite recipes, like a healthy veggie breakfast casserole and a not-so-healthy nacho recipe. I’ve talked about my grandfather’s difficult battle with brain cancer, my struggles with self-esteem, and a few of the reasons why I adore my husband.
I appreciate people reading this blog. I love the emails and comments that I get. Thanks for checking it out!
If a restaurant serves fried pickles, I’m guaranteed to try them. // I’m terrified of fish, but I love the ocean. // I don’t know how to ride a bike, whistle or snap my fingers. // I love the smell of pumpkin, but I hate the taste. // I’m not ashamed to admit I love Hallmark Christmas movies (OK, all Hallmark movies). // I could eat chips and salsa every day and be completely happy. // I’m determined to one day write a book. // Vanilla Coke Zero is my favorite drink, only rivaled by Chick-fil-A sweet tea. // I’m still terrified of the dentist. // I read, on average, 50-70 books a year. I’m incredibly behind this year because, well, life. // I always, always have a red pen in my purse. #EditorLife // I will never correct your grammar on social media because I am a nice person. // I’m super paranoid about parking garages; I’ve watched one-too-many scary movies where bad things happen. // I rarely listen to the radio; I couldn’t even begin to tell you what the top 40 songs are right now. // I spend, on average, 17-20 hours in my car commuting every week. Yes, I realize that is insane. // I want four kids. // There’s almost always a candle burning in my house if I am at home.
